This is the scene I imagine Ragged Dick taking place in. It is Urban America, where the city never sleeps. The street is wide, and there appear to be wealthy people socializing, and going about their business, while a train passes by over-head. Unlike in rural America, in order to get by in the city, you must always work hard, try to keep your eye on the prize.
